You're fighting a Shadow! What can you do?

Well, first let's figure out what you can't do. You can't hit it with normal attacks, attack skills, or attack items. Its power is proportional to yours, so no matter how many HP you have, it'll hit you hard enough to kill you in 4-5 rounds or so. On the bright side, it only has 95 HP, so if you can figure out a way to harm it, you should be able to defeat it before it can kill you.

Well, all we have left are skills or items that affect you, rather than your shadow -- that is, healing skills and items. Give them a try!

That's right: healing you will hurt your shadow. Since the shadow does quite a bit of damage to you, you need to use the most powerful healing items you have, namely red pixel potions. You'll need 4, although if you get lucky enough with your first three you might be able to get by with something cheaper, like a Doc Galaktik's Homeopathic Elixir, on your last one.

Note that if you have Ambidextrous Funkslinging, which allows you to use two items every round, then defeating the Shadow with elixir is a breeze. It is also possible to get the drop on the Shadow if you have a very large number of initiative-boosting skills, which can reduce the number of red pixel potions needed.
