Candy hearts were introduced in February 2007 with the appearance of the libram of candy heart summoning at Mr. Store at a cost of 1 Mr. Accessory. Using the libram gives you the Summon Candy Heart skill, which immediately becomes hardcore permanent. The candy hearts share many features in common with the last Mr. Store skill, snowcone summoning (see SnowconeInfo), but also have some new features.
You may summon as many candy hearts in a day as you want, limited only by the MP cost. The MP cost increases for each one you summon, however. In general, the cost to summon the nth cone is equal to the nth triangular number, which is n*(n+1)/2. The first few terms of this sequence are 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, 21, 28, 36, 45, 55...
When you cast, you will randomly get one of the six possible colors of candy heart:
Candy hearts may be sent to other players using the "send" link. When you send a candy heart, you may attach a message of two lines of up to five characters each. If you send a candy heart to a player in hardcore or ronin, they receive the heart as an appropriately-colored candygram, which cannot be used until the restrictions no longer apply.
Using a candy heart gives you ten turns of an appropriately-colored effect. Unlike snowcones, there is no restriction on multiple candy heart use; you can have all six effects running simultaneously if you've got the hearts. The effects are as follows:
