yeah, something crashed on earth, aliens come out and story begins...come on, could those people just be a little bit more creative? I think I understand why Spielberg is famous now: at least he makes aliens come out of ground:)

That's exactly what happened in the original Transformers cartoon, actually! The Transformers crash-landed into a dormant volcano on Earth 4 million years ago (!) and essentially fell into a coma until the volcano erupted and brought their power back online 4 million years later, in the modern day.
So they did essentially come out of the ground.
I don't know the plot of the new movie, but I read rumors that only one robot is buried underground at the beginning of the movie.
